Join us for a day of indigo dyeing with Shibori techniques !
Sheron Buchele Rowland of Fox Ryde Gardens will instruct participants in the art of Shibori and indigo dyeing. The silk veils will be folded and bound off in various ways to exclude the dye from penetrating the silk in an artistic and ancient method. You can choose to hand sew, tie off with string or rubber bands, or crumple around a pole to create beautiful designs
Using all natural and environmentally friendly techniques, you will make a unique, all-natural silk veil suitable for dance, decoration, and outfit adornment.
* Bring your own 5mm - 45x108 silk habotai veil. If you would like to receive your veil at the event, we will need your order and payment by October 20 . No variations of this veil will be accepted so be careful when you order.
*Dishwashing style rubber gloves are strongly suggested. Indigo dyes fingernails blue and can take up to 3 weeks to go away.

Only one per participant, please. We will not have enough time to do multiples. Private studio time can be arranged with Sheron for additional dye projects.
Sheron will be supplying the other dye materials and tools for our use.
